This week LEGOLAND Florida unveiled a life-sized replica of the all-new Ford F-150 Lightning electric truck made from over 320,000 LEGO bricks. This full-scale F-150 even has working headlights and tail lights.

The electric pickup was made entirely out of LEGO bricks, took nearly 1,600 hours to build, and is now on display at the theme park, where Ford is the official automotive partner. It’s pretty impressive, although we wish it actually ran like the LEGO Toyota Supra from last year.

The 1:1 model replica is designed after the Ford F-150 Lightning Lariat crew cab, featuring a full-size truck bed, running boards, beautiful wheels and tires, along with working headlights and taillights.

A team of 15 master LEGO builders spent over 1,600 hours assembling 320,000 LEGO bricks to finish this full-size vehicle. The result is a LEGO truck nearly 19 feet long, seven feet wide, and weighing 3,730 lbs.

The LEGO version is quite heavy, considering the real version of this truck weighs around 6,500 lbs yet packs massive battery packs and electric motors that let it go from 0-60 MPH in under four seconds.

It sounds like the team used computer software to help manage all the curves and contours of the truck. Thankfully, most of this incredible piece of art was made out of existing LEGO bricks, which is saying something. It’s pretty neat seeing the headlights turn on in the video above.

The life-size Ford F-150 Lightning LEGO replica will be permanently on display at LEGOLAND Florida in front of the Ford Driving School.
