#Origins: Starz Developing Power Prequel Series About Ghost and Tommy

The Power franchise may be expanding yet again on Starz. The cable network is developing a prequel series called Origins, following the early days of the popular Ghost and Tommy characters from the original Power series.

Kathryn Busby, President of Programming for STARZ, said the following about the potential series:

“As we approach the 10-year anniversary of Power it is incredible to witness the enormous connection our fans have with the Power universe. We can’t wait to see how Origins will further evolve this dynamic franchise while bringing fresh, gripping, and expansive storytelling to our audience.”

If ordered to series, Origins will be the fourth spin-off from the original Power series, which ran from 2014 until 2020.

Power Book II: Ghost debuted in 2021 and follows Ghost’s son Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.) as he tries to establish himself in a new life. Others in the cast include Shane Johnson, Gianni Paolo, Lovell, Adams-Gray, Paige Hurd, Woody McClain, Method Man, LaToya Tonodeo, and Mary J. Blige. Season four will debut later this year.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan is currently filming its fourth season in New York and follows the early life of Kanan Stark, first played by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, as he gets into the drug business. The show stars Mekai Curtis, Patina Miller, London Brown, Malcolm Mays, and Joey Bada$$.

Power Book IV: Force is currently filming third-season episodes in Chicago and the story revolves around Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora) as he moves to the Windy City. The drama also stars Lucien Cambric, Anthony Fleming III, Shane Harper, Isaac Keys, Kris D. Lofton, and Lili Simmons.
