“#TikTok ‘timeline shifters’ travel to alternate universes in the shower”
Believing these claims might require a quantum leap of faith.
Thought the Gabby Petito-invoking TikTok physics were outlandish? In a trend straight out of “Back to the Future,” scores of Tokfluencers are claiming that they use the shower to time travel to a parallel universe –– where they’re a different, often improved version of themselves.
Their claims are rooted in the oft-disputed multiverse theory, which postulates that space is never-ending, meaning that there are infinite probabilities and therefor alternate dimensions. Theoretically these alternate dimensions include parallel planets where events play out almost identically to how they do on Earth, although so far traveling to these inter-dimensional doppelgangers has proven impossible.
Nonetheless, Tennessee time bandit Kady Rox, who goes by @kadyroxz on the platform, recalled a bizarre instance during a 2017 school trip to France, where she distinctly remembers flying home with her classmates – while they claimed they missed the flight.

“My classmates and I took a trip to Paris and were heading back on the last day of the trip,” the Nashville-based model explained in a July clip with nearly 450,000 views . “All four of us got into a car and headed to the airport.”
Once at the airport, Rox remembers getting separated from her friends – although she claimed her recollection of the events was a bit hazy. They reportedly texted her that the flight was boarding, whereupon the frantic Tokfluencer rushed to the terminal in the nick of time.
The alleged interdimensional adventurer said she recalled, “sitting on the floor waiting for my section of the planes aboard and all the girls were there.”
“I remember walking on that aircraft past two of my friends is sitting like three rows behind them,” recounted Rox to her over 93,000 followers. “Then the four of us took a taxi back to the apartments we were staying in while we were in school, and I distinctly remember this.”
Two days later, the thunderbolt struck.
The flabbergasted influencer described, “They’re talking about they weren’t three rows in front of us. And to this day, I have no idea why they remember missing the flight.”
Rox found the scenario especially perplexing as her school buddies had “memories of what we did after the flight – like being in the taxi together and going to the beach and talking about it in the group chat.”
Her tale might sound like something out of “the Twilight Zone.” However, it surprisingly resonated with TikTok commenters, many of whom shared their own alleged accounts of transtemporal travel.
“I swear to God this happens to me all the time,” exclaimed one understanding fan of the “Wandavision”-evoking phenomenon. “I just always say maybe I’m mixing up events but something isn’t right.”
In addition to her alleged accidental time warp, Rox has claimed to have figured out how to intentionally split the space-time continuum.
“The easiest way to skip timelines is to find a portal,” described the inter-dimensional voyager, who purportedly likes “doing it in the shower” because water is a “natural” portal.
“So sometimes I’ll script or I’ll envision in my mind the timeline, and as I’m in the water I’m shutting the old timeline,” she explained. “When the water stops I stepping out into the timeline.”

While the practice might sound outlandish, most influencers aren’t claiming to have literally time-traveled in the shower. Rather they say they’ve manifested a more desirable future a la lucid dreaming.
Self-proclaimed “master manifester” Marian Valenza – even posted a tutorial on the “Hot Tub Time Machine”-evoking travel technique, in which “time travel” is essentially a metaphor for positive visualization.
“You can actually shift into your most desired timeline where what you want to manifest has already come through using the power of the water in your shower,” the manifestation maven described in the clip with over 130,000 views. “Water is such a powerful conduit to this. I’m going to share it a step by step way of how I’ve done it.”
To achieve this alternate reality, Valenza says you must first give yourself enough time “because you don’t want to rush this.” Then prospective time travelers must soak themselves completely in hot water while one visualizes “the water cleansing you so that it removes all of your limiting beliefs, the negative thoughts that you have” and if you can, “shampoo and lather with a a strong smelling scent such as orange or cinnamon.”
Specifically, she advises distancing oneself from all “the things holding you back from stepping into your highest self, your career success or business success – whatever it is that you want to manifest.”
“You’ve got to remember that everything you desire already exists in the non-physical, but you have blockers in the way preventing it or maybe slowing it down from materialising in the 3D world,” Valenza added.
As a final “super important” step, the gal instructs her viewers to set their water “to the coldest possible temperature.”
“And as you’re really feeling your entire body head to toe with this cold water running down take three to eight conscious breaths,” she said. “And while you’re doing this practice law of assumption and assume that it’s already yours, believe it and this is really where that shift happens into that timeline. This hot to cold really shifts you.”
While Valenza is speaking about alternate realities in the figurative sense, NASA scientists in Antarctica recently detected evidence of an actual parallel universe — where the rules of physics are the opposite of our own.
Unfortunately, the reality of reaching it is currently relegated to science fiction films.
