#Farewell, My Dear Cramer First Touch Anime Film Reveals Additional Details

Additional staff members, theme song artist, and April 1 premiere date have been revealed for the upcoming anime film Farewell, My Dear Cramer First Touch (Sayonara Watashi no Kuramā). The details were revealed in the January 2021 issue of Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine.

The film is part of the anime project for Naoshi Arakawa’s Farewell, My Dear Cramer manga which consists of both the film and a TV anime series, both of which will premiere April 2021 in Japan. The film will adapt the Sayonara, Football prequel manga, which follows Nozomi in junior high school.

Seiki Takuno (Boarding School Juliet) is directing the film alongside scriptwriter Natsuko Takahashi (Tokyo Magnitude 8.0). Eriko Itō (Hamatora) serves as the character designer, and Masaru Yokoyama (Your Lie in April, Fruits Basket) is composing the music. The film is being produced at LIDEN FILMS and will be distributed by Toei.

The film’s cast members include Miyuri Shimabukuro (Carole & Tuesday) as Nozomi Onda, Shion Wakayama (Dr. Stone) as Sawa Echizen, Kouki Uchiyama (Charlotte) as Tetsuji Yamada, Ryota Ohsaka (Assassination Classroom) as Kaoru Takei, Ryoko Shiraishi (Boruto: Naruto Next Generations) as Junpei Onda, Koji Yusa (Bleach) as Kōzō Sameji and Shimba Tsuchiya (Haikyu!!) as Yasuaki Tani.

In addition, Aika Kobayashi is performing the film’s theme song “Sora wa Dare ka no Mono Ja Nai” (The Sky Doesn’t Belong to Anyone), as well as the opening theme song for the upcoming TV anime.

Kodansha Comics is releasing the manga in English digitally simultaneously with the Japan release and describes the series as:

With no soccer accomplishments to speak of during the entirety of Sumire Suo’s junior high school years, the young wing gets an odd offer. Suo’s main rival, Midori Soshizaki, invites her to join up on the same team in high school, with a promise that she’ll never let Suo “play alone.” It’s an earnest offer, but the question is whether Suo will take her up on it. Thus the curtain opens on a story that collects an enormous cast of individual soccer-playing personalities!
