#Lana Del Rey rewears mesh mask in ‘Chemtrails Over the Country Club’

Guess this mesh mask wasn’t born to die.

Months after facing backlash for wearing a bedazzled mash mask to an LA meet-and-greet, Lana Del Rey brought back the controversial style for her new “Chemtrails Over the Country Club” music video, which was released on Tuesday.

In true Lana Del Rey fashion, the ’60s-inspired video sees the star driving to the country club decked out in pearl jewelry, completing her look with the now-infamous sheer face covering.

The “Blue Jeans” singer, 35, eventually ditches the mask as she and her friends morph into werewolves for the video’s surprise ending. (Fangs and mesh don’t mix, it seems.)

While Del Rey defended her mask in November, saying that it “had plastic on the inside,” fans couldn’t help but react to its return.

“Lana stands can’t escape the mask,” tweeted one, while another asked, “why is lana del rey doubling down on her stupid mask situation?”

“Not @LanaDelRay wearing her fake face mask as a fashionable accessory in this music video,” wrote a third.

While we may never unmask the reasoning behind the style’s return, Del Rey did model a more obviously effective face covering earlier this week, posting an Instagram selfie in a blue-and-white mask studded with over 1,000 Swarovski crystals by Benveniste Couture.
