Summer Time Rendering is based on the manga by Yasuki Tanaka, which ran from 2017 to 2021 in Shueisha’s Shounen Jump+ online magazine. Under the Jump Comics label, 13 tankoubon volumes have been collected and released all together.

Manga Plus describes the story as:

Upon hearing of Ushio’s death, Shinpei returns to his hometown of Wakayama City on Hitogashima and reunites with his childhood friend’s family. The funeral goes smoothly, but under the surface something strange is brewing on the island. What mysteries await him on this secluded summer island?

Disney+ has licensed the anime series for online streaming as part of their initiative into anime.
