A January 2023 release window has been announced for the anime adaptation of Spy Classroom. The upcoming show also received a 30-second character trailer for Sora Amamiya‘s Lily, the leader of the Lamplight spy team.

Spy Classroom is based on the light novel series written by Takemichi and illustrated by Tomari, which began in 2020. The series has eight main volumes and two short story collections as of July 2022.

Yen Press, which publishes both the light novels and manga in English, describes the former as:

Following a devastating military conflict, countries fight their wars in the shadows. One unusual spy, Klaus, has never failed on the job despite his quirks, and he is building a team to take on an Impossible Mission—one with over a 90 percent chance of failure. The main staff for the anime includes Keiichiro Kawaguchi (Higurashi: When They Cry – Gou/Sotsu) as director, Shinichi Inozume (Platinum End) as series composer, and Sumie Kinoshita (Idoly Pride) as character designer. feel. is the animation production company.

The Spy Classroom light novels are published under Kadokawa’s Fujimi Fantasia Bunko label. The series was the winner of the 32nd Fantasia Bunko award. A manga adaptation by Kaname Seu began in 2020.
