“My Neighbor Totoro Goods Showcase Fine Japanese Craftsmanship”

Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten specializes in collecting and selling fine goods from all across Japan. Tomorrow, they’ll be kicking off a collaboration with Studio Ghibli, offering household goods that mix classic films with traditional wares. And leading the charge is your friend and mine, Totoro.
This first line will include a total of 25 unique goods, crafted by artisans from across Japan. In keeping with the theme of My Neighbor Totoro, these goods will also encourage a connection to nature and the world around us. For example, these Yatsuo washi treasure chests for collecting precious finds:
Three tiny Hizen Yoshida ware vases:
And acorn dishes from a variety of artisans:

Other goods on offer include bells, shirts, handkerchiefs and towels:
The highlight of the collection, though, is this Inami woodcarving of Totoro, carved from camphor—the wood of the same kind of tree Totoro and friends call home. These beautiful carvings are handmade, and will only be available in limited quantities.
