A suspected arsonist faces up to 20 years in jail for trying to torch Portland’s Justice Center — and he was easily identified thanks to a tattoo of his name on his back, according to prosecutors.

Edward Schinzing, 32, was one of 30 who broke into the area that houses the city’s police headquarters — under the cover of protests in late May, the Department of Justice said.

The mob attack led to the area later being secured with heavy gates, the heart of ongoing confrontations between rioters and law enforcement, The Oregonian noted.

After smashing windows, the mob spray-painted offices, broke computers and then started a series of fires in a jail records office — forcing staff to flee for safety, the fed’s statement claimed.

“Schinzing was identified by a comparison with a jail booking photo and a distinctive tattoo of his last name across his upper back,” the department said.

A booking photograph shows his surname in large letters across his back, seemingly matching those of a topless intruder caught in security footage from the attack.

“Schinzing spread a fire that started near the front of the office by lighting additional papers on fire and moving them into a drawer of a separate cubicle,” the department said in its statement.

The building’s sprinklers soon put out the fire and law enforcement based at the center secured the breached area, the department said.

Schinzing was charged with using fire to ‘maliciously damage’ the city’s Justice Center.

He made his first appearance in federal court Tuesday, and was ordered to be held in jail in the same Justice Center he is accused of trying to torch, according to The Oregonian.

Schinzing is homeless and was on probation for a domestic violence assault at the time, the paper said.

Arson is punishable by up to 20 years in prison with a mandatory minimum sentence of 5 years, the feds said.

Portland on Tuesday saw its 62nd consecutive night of protests, some of which have been declared riots, including when the Justice Center was again breached.
