The Democratic National Convention on Tuesday unveiled a schedule of speakers including NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo, firebrand Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Hillary Clinton and 2016 GOP presidential candidate John Kasich.

The virtual four day event, titled “Uniting America,” represents the Democratic Party’s increasingly large ideological spectrum and also set off frenzied speculation over who could be Joe Biden’s running mate.

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif) is considered the front-runner to join Biden’s ticket but is slated to speak on Thursday evening while Biden’s VP will appear on Wednesday. Former national security advisor Susan Rice, another main candidate, does not appear on the list of speakers.

But convention planners deliberately scheduled speaking times for some of the top vice presidential contenders in case they are not picked, the New York Times reported.

Monday’s kick off features former presidential hopefuls Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt) and Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn), Empire State Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC) and former first lady Michelle Obama.

According a DNC release, these notable speakers represent the leaders who are rising up to combat challenges such as the coronavirus pandemic and will help Biden in “rebuilding the country.”

Former Ohio Gov. John Kasich who ran against President Trump in the 2016 GOP primary will also appear on the first night in what is being described as a display of unity and the large anti-Trump coalition backing Biden.

Tuesday evening will see Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Jill Biden, firebrand Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), former president Bill Clinton, former AG Sally Yates and ex-secretary of state John Kerry — all figures who are reportedly trying to unite the country under the banner of “leadership” — take the virtual stage.

Biden’s yet-to-be-announced VP pick will take the stage on Wednesday night alongside House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, former President Barack Obama, 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass) for “A More Perfect Union.”

The fourth and final night on Thursday, dubbed “America’s Promise,” will feature Biden, his family, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, former presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg and Sens. Cory Booker (D-NJ), Kamala Harris (D-Calif), Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill), Chris Coons (D-Del).

The raucous event that was slated to be held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin was moved almost entirely online last month amid the coronavirus pandemic and will be condensed into two hours of prime-time programming starting at 9 p.m. ET.

Biden is expected to accept the Democratic nomination from his home state of Delaware while all of the other speakers will appear virtually.

The Republican National Convention was also forced to follow suit, canceling a celebration in Jacksonville, Florida where the state is recovering from a huge COVID-19 outbreak.

President Trump is reportedly considering accepting the GOP nomination from the Gettysburg battlefield or the White House.
