#Sunburned Gov. Cuomo won’t address sex-harass claims

Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Monday told reporters how he basked in the sun over the weekend — while again hiding behind ongoing investigations to duck questions about the sexual harassment scandal that threatens to torch his political career.

During a brief afternoon conference call, the embattled three-term Democrat said he caught the rays while enjoying the start of spring, which officially began Saturday.

“All right, guys, thank you very much for taking the time and enjoy this beautiful weather — not as much as I did,” Cuomo said as he wrapped up his remarks.

“I got a little overdone by the sun.”

Earlier, Cuomo preempted journalists from inquiring about the spiraling allegations against him, the latest of which came Friday from a current Executive Chamber aide.

Alyssa McGrath, 33, said Cuomo had harassed her by, among other things, looking down her blouse and commenting on a necklace hidden there.

McGrath also said Cuomo 63, had asked her friend and co-worker not to reveal to her that he allegedly groped the unidentified woman in the executive mansion in Albany late last year.

“As you know, there is an ongoing review by the Assembly and the Attorney General’s Office, and I’m not going to have any comments on that until the appropriate time,” Cuomo said.

Cuomo took questions from only four reporters, who all abided by his warning, although one asked about the sexual misconduct allegations that led US Rep. Tom Reed (R-NY) of Corning to announce that he won’t run for governor next year and will instead retire from politics.

“On Mr. Reed, I have no comment. That’s up to Mr. Reed,” Cuomo said.
