Summer Walker’s new album Still On It is scheduled to release on November 5, and fans can’t wait to get their hands on new music from the R&B songstress. People in New York City can try their luck at getting the album early, though.

On Sunday (October 17), Summer Walker took to her Instagram to announce her fans in New York City have the chance to hear Still Over It if they managed to break through a glass container holding the hard drive with the new album on it.

Footage circulating on social media show fans heading to various locations across Manhattan on Monday (October 18) trying to release the hard drive from its prison. Most people who participated in the challenge failed except for one gentleman who managed to pop the top of the glass container in Harlem.

“Uhh ooo NYC you came with the timbs and black forces energy!! somebody broke the case and got me.. they’ll have an early listen to #STILLOVERIT,” someone wrote as the caption on the post on “Summer’s Hard Drive” Instagram account.

The fan couldn’t go home with Walker’s new album and instead was invited to hear it at a studio in NYC. The guy shared an Instagram Story of himself and some friends listening to the new tunes inside the studio.

Summer Walker is already being pit against other artists with this new album on the way. Last week rumors began swirling that SZA’s long-awaited sophomore album will touch down on the same day as Summer Walker’s Still On It LP.

Someone on Twitter sparked the rumor with a viral tweet that had a fake cover and tracklist claiming, “SZA has just announced her 2nd studio album titled ‘Alt’ dropping November 5th.”

SZA jumped on Twitter to run some damage control and clear any rumors or confusion of an alleged album showdown on November 5. However, she did shoot down any hope of her highly-anticipated CTRL follow-up dropping next month.

“I jus wanna know y y’all think i would drop same time as summer and I’m ON her album like wut,” the TDE singer wrote.

Summer Walker recently confirmed SZA will appear on Still Over It alongside Lil Durk, Ari Lennox and City Girls’ JT.
