Kid Cudi has begun the process of penning his life story in an upcoming memoir.

In a tweet to his 2.7 million followers on Tuesday (September 20), the Cleveland, Ohio native revealed he’s started writing the first chapter of his biography, which he said will explain his “troubled boy” beginnings.

Cudi — who lost his father to cancer at the age of 11, but whose deeply vulnerable and confessional music has won him an army of adoring fans — admitted he’s nervous about lifting the lid on his private life.

“Started writing the first chapter of my book,” he wrote. “Its comin together really well. Tellin my story in my own words is scary, but I feel like it needs to be told. I feel like everything will make a lil more sense as to why you all met such a troubled boy in the beginning.”

Kid Cudi first revealed plans to write a book last week, promising an “honest” telling of his life story.

“Im writing a memoir,” he tweeted. “Im finally gonna tell my story. The full story. All real. All honest.”

While it appears he’s slightly daunted by the prospect of writing his own biography, the Man on the Moon rapper previously brought his journey to the big screen in the 2021 documentary A Man Named Scott.

Featuring cameos from close collaborators and admirers like Kanye West, Pharrell and A$AP Rocky, the Amazon Prime Video film chronicled Cudi’s up-and-down career since his breakout in 2008 with “Day ‘N’ Nite.”

September is shaping up to be an eventful month for Mr. Rager. The 38-year-old successfully put on his Moon Man’s Landing Festival in his hometown of Cleveland over the weekend, which featured performances from Playboi Carti, Pusha T, Don Toliver, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony and more.

September 30 will see the release of his new album, Entergalactic, and accompanying animated Netflix series, which he’s touted as his “greatest achievement.” However, the musical half of the project was subject to embarrassment last week when songs from the album leaked and were tagged with fart noises.

For all his creative endeavors, Cudi continues to feel the venom of his haters. The Lonely Stoner has been embroiled in social media spats with Kanye West and producer Mike Dean of late, which perhaps explained his recent declaration that he’s the “most hated man in Hip Hop right now.”

Still, Cudder has his fair share of admirers in the rap game including Travis Scott, with who he’s cooked up another collaboration, possibly for Scott’s eagerly anticipated Utopia LP; and JAY-Z and Snoop Dogg, who Cudi recently thanked for lending him their “wisdom.”
