The Yonkers-bred rap legend previously announced the funky collab on Instagram, and Brady announced he would also soon kickstart a new label called Bass & Bars Records alongside DJ Premier and Ian Schwartzman.
“Along with today’s episode we are excited to officially announce Bass & Bars Records, in partnership with my long time comrades @djpremier and @ianschwartzman,” the bassist wrote on IG. “Starting today and every Monday moving forward we will release each of these classic records to the world on all streaming platforms. This will make each new episode and some of the older Bass and Bars audio available to stream on Spotify, iTunes, Etc…”
He continued, “This is especially important because each artist who participates will also regain ownership of their classic records for a brand new stream of income and future sync opportunities. Bass and Bars Records is here! Shouts 2 @jamiehhoms @jessie_wagner for bringing this to the next level on the vocals! Make sure to come catch us live this Wednesday August 31 in NYC at the Mercury Lounge!”

“Good Times” was released on August 11, 2002 and debuted at No. 22 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was the first single off Styles’ debut album A Gangster and a Gentleman and was a radio success, notably appearing on the Soul Plane soundtrack.
The rapper’s latest link-up with Brady Watt marks the third time the track has been remixed. The track was remixed two other times at its peak popularity, with the first remix including a guest appearance from Method Man & Redman, and the second including a verse from Ruff Ryders rapper Jin.
Styles P also recently rang in “Good Times” 2oth birthday with a special concert in his hometown of New York City. On August 18, Styles hit New York’s Irving Plaza with his LOX family – Jadakiss and Sheek Louch – for a one-of-a-kind celebration of the song. Havoc, Smoke DZA, Nems, Statik Selektah and many others were also in tow to perform at the massive concert.
While “Good Times” was a feel-good tune dedicated to Styles’s marijuana use, Styles recently argued that the weed policy as it stands is corrupt and racist and needs to be reformed.
“I’m just going to be honest: [White] guys grow the pot, you never go to jail for it, make tons of fucking money for it,” he said during an appearance on Jacobi Holland’s On The Revel.
He continued, “We buy the pot that you grow, it fucks up our future, we get arrested for it, now you got a felony and a bunch of misdemeanors, now you can’t get a job. How the fuck do we fix the problem? By addressing the problem. Let’s figure out how to get some of these black kids some money over this fucking pot.”
