“Studio Chizu Cinematic Orchestra 2022 To Begin on August 14”

An orchestra concert featuring music from various Mamoru Hosoda films is set to begin on August 14 in Japan.

The concert, which is named the Studio Chizu Cinematic Orchestra 2022, will be held at Hall A of the Tokyo International Forum. It will commemorate the 1st anniversary of Belle‘s release and Studio Chizu‘s 10th anniversary.

The concert will see the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra performing music from Wolf Children, The Boy and the Beast, Mirai, and Belle. Despite the concert’s name, the orchestra will also play music from the Madhouse-produced The Girl Who leapt Through Time and Summer Wars. “Famous” scenes from the movies will be played onscreen during the performance.

The Studio Chizu Cinematic Orchestra 2022 will see Hirofumi Kurita (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba orchestra concert, Girls und Panzer der Film cinematic concert ) leading the orchestra and Masakatsu Takagi, the composer of Wolf Children, The Boy and the Beast, and Mirai, on piano. There will also be guest vocalists in the form of Hanako Oku (The Girl Who leapt Through Time theme song “Garnet” and insert song “What Never Changes”) and Ann Sally (Wolf Children theme song “Okaasan no Uta”).

Purchasable goods featuring cumulonimbus designs (the cloud can be seen in various Hosoda movies) and illustrations of the character Belle will be available as well. The items will be revealed at a later date.

Advance tickets went on sale on May 18.
