#Fort Bragg soldier kills pregnant wife, turns gun on himself

A Fort Bragg soldier fatally shot his pregnant wife — who was due on Christmas Day — before turning the gun on himself on Sunday night, according to reports.

Staff Sgt. Keith Lewis, 31, allegedly carried out the fatal shootings while the couple’s 3-year-old daughter was with them at their Fayetteville, North Carolina home, the Army Times reported.

Keith Lewis was declared dead on scene. His wife, 34-year-old Sarah Lewis, was taken to the hospital, but she and her unborn child could not be saved.

“It’s a complete shock. It’s like a horror movie,” Sarah’s aunt, Tammy De Mirza, told WRAL.

“She was vivacious and fun and lighthearted and easygoing and really had a heart to be of service,” the aunt told the news station.

Sarah was due to have her fourth child — and second with Keith, her second husband, the report said.

The mother was also a member of the military until she had her first baby, family members told WRAL.

Police in 2016 had responded to the Lewis’ home for a domestic dispute call, but no charges were filed, the Fayetteville Observer reported.
