The Knicks have 11 known candidates for their head coaching job, but ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith threw out another intriguing possibility.

Smith — who said he has been “been on the record religiously” talking up Mark Jackson, one of the Knicks’ candidates. But the provocative NBA voice said he “would shove (the Jackson candidacy) aside” if they had a chance to get Los Angeles Clippers coach Doc Rivers in a year.

“I’ve been told that it’s entirely possible that Mike Miller might be kept for another year and then after that, you go and get Doc Rivers away from the Clippers,” Smith said Wednesday on ESPN Radio’s “Bart and Hahn” show. “You know, so who knows whether or not that’s going to happen.”

If Smith’s out-of-the-box scenario doesn’t materialize, you still can check out the Post’s breakdown of the 11 candidates, courtesy of Greg Joyce. Mike Miller, who was the team’s interim coach this past season after replacing David Fizdale, is one of the 11 candidates on the Knicks’ list.
