“#Stefanik preparing bid to replace Cheney after she was ousted”
Moments after House Republicans voted to oust Rep. Liz Cheney from her No. 3 leadership position, Rep. Elise Stefanik released a letter to her GOP colleagues, seeking their support in her bid to become chair of the Republican conference.
“Today I humbly ask to earn your vote for House Republican Conference Chair to unify our message as a team and win the Majority in 2022,” Stefanik (R-NY) wrote in a letter to House Republicans.
“Despite the media’s endless attempts to divide us, our Members are united in our laser focus on defeating the radical Socialist Democrat agenda of President Biden and Speaker Pelosi. Our Members believe that the stakes are far too high for us to be divided.”
“We stand shoulder to shoulder in believing that we have a historic opportunity to work as a team to win back the Majority in 2022 on behalf of the American people and save our great country,” Stefanik continued.
She noted that President Biden and the Democrats have put together the “most significant Far-Left Socialist dismantling of America by any President or Congress in our Nation’s history.”
She said American voters need to hear from Republicans opposed to the agenda with a unified voice.
“We need to ensure they are hearing our unified conservative vision on the issues that matter to them. Our communications posture must be to go on aggressive offense every single day to break through the biased media,” Stefanik said, adding that Republicans need to fan out on all platforms to get their message across.
“Our Members should be provided key messaging points to fight back against the Far-Left media narrative on the issues most important to our constituents,” she said.
“We have strong conservative policy solutions to protect our borders, secure our elections, reopen our schools, get Americans back to work, support law enforcement, protect our Constitution, and strengthen our military to counter adversaries like the Chinese Communist Party. If we get our message out, we will win and save America,” she continued.
She laid out her goals as conference chair – providing a “disciplined, unified message,” a communications offensive every day, and “empower our Members to shine” — before promoting herself to Republican leaders as the one to carry it out.
“I will work hard today and every day to listen and earn your confidence and support as House GOP Conference Chair. And I look forward to working with you as we share our unified conservative vision, regain the Majority, fire Speaker Pelosi once and for all, and fight on behalf of the American people to save our country,” she said.
