#Spencer Grammer, daughter of Kelsey Grammer, speaks out about East Village slashing

Spencer Grammer, the actress daughter of “Frasier” star Kelsey Grammer, was just doing the right thing by standing up to a blade-wielding drunk who ultimately slashed her outside a Manhattan restaurant, she said Sunday.

“My friend and I did what anyone else would do in the same situation,” said Grammer in a statement released through her representatives. “Several others, predominantly women, were also attempting to prevent the altercation from escalating.”

The 36-year-old “Rick and Morty” voice actress and pal Jan Phillip Mueller, 32, were enjoying a Friday night at East Village eatery The Black Ant when an apparently intoxicated man demanded a table, according to law-enforcement sources.

With the Second Avenue joint near closing time, workers tried to turn the man away, but he flew into a rage and pulled out a blade, sources said.

When patrons including Grammer and Mueller attempted to ease tensions, the hungry hothead turned the weapon on them before running off.

“I sustained a laceration on my arm, and my friend was stabbed in the back, but thankfully he suffered no serious internal injuries,” Grammer said. “We expect to recover quickly.

“We want to thank the first responders and the staff at Bellevue Hospital, who provided us with excellent care,” she continued, adding a tip of the cap amid the coronavirus pandemic. “They fought an incredible battle this year. It was very moving for us to have the opportunity to thank them in person.”

Investigators on Saturday night released images of the suspect, a bald man last seen wearing a white T-shirt and dark-colored shorts.
