#Soundgarden and Vicky Cornell Reach Temporary Agreement Over Social Media Accounts

Soundgarden and Vicky Cornell, the widow of Chris Cornell, have come to a temporary agreement regarding the band’s social media accounts. The Soundgarden website, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter have been transferred to the remaining band members. Check out the announcements below.

In March, Soundgarden’s remaining band members accused Vicky Cornell of withholding access to the band’s social media accounts and sought an injunction against her. In a new statement, Cornell wrote, “Through our joint social media efforts and our temporary agreement, my family, along with the surviving members of Soundgarden, hope to celebrate Chris and his music out of mutual respect and love.”

In December 2019, Vicky Cornell sued the remaining members of Soundgarden over missing royalty payments. Two months later, the band filed a response, stating that the recordings tied to those royalties are property of the band. This February, Cornell filed a new lawsuit against the surviving members, claiming she was offered less than a $300,000 buyout.
