#’Southern Charm’s Craig Conover still wants to be the male Martha Stewart as he launches new pillow line

“Southern Charm” star Craig Conover is still on a mission to become the male Martha Stewart.

“I kind of really like the path — a lot of the path that Martha Stewart took and being the male Martha Stewart with a home decor line would be great and that’s the direction we’re going in,” Conover, 31, recently told Page Six about his Sewing Down South x Thomasville collection.

“So our partner Amanda really keeps us on a leash or tethered down in a good way because I want to do everything all at once, but obviously, you need to focus on one thing at a time or a couple of things at a time,” he added. “And so we will — we’ll get a lot more extensive into kitchenware, which will be great. We’re going to move into dog beds. Stuff like that. And then hopefully a bedding line and towels and basically just the full spectrum of our home decor company.”

However, the reality star didn’t draw inspiration from Stewart, 79, for his new collection with Thomasville, as his creativity was sparked by his local surroundings.

“Charleston isn’t that big of a city, which is great, and you can really find some unique places in the city that you’ve never seen before,” he explained. “And just with the textures and colors of history and it’s fun, you know, this city really goes back a while and there’s a lot of antiques and a lot of old furniture and as you see the ebbs and flows of the design world, there’s always something from this city to kind of be applied to new designs.”

Now with “Southern Charm” returning to Bravo on Oct. 29, Conover has his sights set on finally meeting Stewart.

“They sent me a really nice package, a huge box with all of these products from all of her lines whether it was crafting or cooking or drinkware and her book with a really nice note in it. So that was cool,” he said, affirming that his 2021 goal is to meet the maven. “But I’ve not met her yet.”
