It’s a jungle out there.

A slithering snake is the Big Apple’s newest straphanger, according to a video posted to Twitter on Sunday.

The black several-foot-long reptile slowly slid along an unidentified New York City Transit platform in the footage, glancing around while the feet of one person stood in the background.

“Being a #TrainOperator for @NYCTSubway I thought I have seen it all but this can’t be real,” wrote the transit worker who posted the video, which he told The Post was sent to him.

The snake appeared to possibly be a non-venomous black Eastern Rat Snake, which can grow to up to 7 feet in length, according to the National Wildlife Federation. Their natural habitat typically extends from Connecticut to South Carolina and as far west as Kansas and Oklahoma, the federation said.

But don’t worry: They’re generally harmless to humans, preferring to feed on rodents, frogs, and eggs than Big Apple commuters.

It’s unclear when the snake showed up, but the MTA told The Post on Sunday that it is investigating.
