A new teaser PV trailer and main visual have been revealed for the SK8 the Infinity Extra Part OVA. The 25-minute OVA will begin screening theatrically in Japan for a limited time starting January 24, 2025, before a Blu-ray and DVD release on March 19, 2025.
The newly released main visual compiles past character visuals promoting the OVA. The limited Japanese screening will include a special compilation of the anime’s first season and videos of the cast.
The main staff from season one are returning to work on the OVA. Hiroko Utsumi (Bucchigiri?!, Banana Fish) is serving as director once again, with Ichiro Okouchi (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion) as screenwriter, Michinori Chiba (Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans) as character designer, and Tomoyo Kamoi (Bucchigiri?!, Bungo Stray Dogs Season 4 EDs) as unit director. The anime has inspired a manga adaptation and comedic manga spinoff title in 2021, as well as two stage play adaptations. The first part ran in 2021 and the second part was scheduled to take place in 2022, but was canceled due to a cast member testing positive for COVID-19.
