#Singles are asking people on dates in the COVID vaccine line

People are looking for love while on line for the jab.

Some soon-to-be-vaccinated people are treating their vaccination dates as a shmoozing opportunity with other almost-inoculated folks.

“Both my seventy-something mom and a relative got asked out in the vaccine line. I’m telling you ppl are ready. This summer will be wild,” wrote author Kaitlyn Greenidge this month in a viral tweet that has accrued over 203,000 likes.

The tweet’s comments are full of reports on similar happenings.

“My 89-year-old mother [had] the same [thing happen]!” responded writer Julie Ingersoll. “This guy chatting her up in line talking about how hard it was to be old. She said tell me about it, and he said how old are you? She told him and he said I’m 96! Then he said, ‘do you have a ‘friend’?’ She said ‘yes I live with my boyfriend.’”

Others are being flirted with by vaccination site authorities.

“The national guardsman who checked my ID today winked at me when he gave me my confirmation paperwork and said ‘leave this on your dash so they know I checked you out’ and I almost spontaneously combusted,” another responder commented

For some, even unwanted vaccine site flirtations are excusable due to the pandemic’s prolonged restrictions on human contact.

“Last week I was volunteering at a vaccine clinic and 76-year-old man kept asking me to take off my mask to see my face and telling me ‘you need a boyfriend? I’ve had all my shots.’ And I wasn’t even offended. So, yeah. People are ready,” wrote another.

Visiting a vaccine site is even being treated as a formal event worthy of wearing one’s best to — including the likes of designer Marc Jacobs, who dressed to the nines for his COVID-19 vaccination.

“Some people are also DRESSED UP for it. I was volunteering and saw a senior dude with his best leather cowboy hat and boots and a lady with big rings and a fancy dress. It’s pretty fun,” observed another respondent.

“Wearing a sequined full-length gown to my vaccine appointment because it’s the EVENT OF MY YEAR,” added another.
