#Shipping Christmas Gifts This Year? Here Are the Official Deadlines – LifeSavvy

Okay, so it’s not even Halloween yet, but that doesn’t mean you can put off your holiday shopping. In addition to the shortages and supply issues, if you’ll be shipping gifts to your recipients, you’ll want to note these deadlines to ensure they arrive on time.

Thankfully, some of the country’s most popular shipping services—the United States Postal Service, FedEx, and UPS—have announced the dates by which you should ship your gifts so they reach their destination on time.

Keep in mind that most of these are considering Dec. 24 as the date of arrival, so if that’s a bit too close for comfort for you, you’ll want to ship even earlier. Also, due to those aforementioned labor shortages and supply chain delays, these dates are more like guidelines than firm promises.

If you’re cool with your gifts arriving Dec. 24, ship them by the following dates:

• FedEx:
  • Home Delivery and Ground: Dec. 15
  • Express Saver and Three-Day Freight: Dec. 21
  • Two-Day: Dec. 22
  • One-Day Freight and Extra Hours: Dec. 23
  • Same Day: Dec. 24
• UPS:
  • Ground: Check the website for a delivery estimate.
  • Three-Day Select: Dec. 21
  • Second Day Air: Dec. 22
  • Next-Day Air: Dec. 23
• USPS:
  • Retail Ground: Dec. 15 (Alaska, Dec. 2)
  • First-Class Mail: Dec. 17 (Alaska, Dec. 18)
  • Priority Mail: Dec. 18 (Hawaii, Dec. 17)
  • Priority Mail Express: Dec. 23 (Alaska and Hawaii, Dec. 21)

There are a few exceptions to note, as well.

UPS discontinued its service guarantee in March 2020, but is making “operational adjustments” to help with shipping. The delivery commitment times to residences with Next-Day Air will be from 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m.

Now that you have all those important shipping dates marked on your calendar, it’s time to start shopping! Oh yeah, and while you’re at it, you might wanna grab that Christmas tree early, as well.
