#Shinka no Mi Gets New Visual, Cast Additions

The upcoming Shinka no Mi ~Shiranai Uchi ni Kachigumi Jinsei~ (The Fruit of Evolution: Before I Knew It, I Was A Winner In Life) anime has received a new visual and new cast details.

The newly announced cast members include Rimi Nishimoto as Rurune, Yoshino Nanjō as Karen Kannazuki, Yōko Hikasa as Louise Valze, Satomi Arai as Yō-san, and Origa Calmeria as Yurika Kubo.

The other cast members include Hiro Shimono as Seiichi Hiiragi, Kana Hanazawa as Saria, Marina Inoue as Artoria Gremm, Tetsu Inada as Gassle Kroot, and Yūka Nishio as Eris McClain. 

Shinka no Mi is set to release in October in Japan. It is based on the ongoing light novels written by Miku and illustrated by U35. The first volume was published in September 2014, while the 12th volume was released on February 26. There is also an ongoing manga series adaptation by Sorano, which began in 2018 and released its sixth volume on January 30. The story originated as a web novel in January 2014.

The story follows a chubby boy called Seiichi Hiiragi, who is transported to a game-like fantasy world in an incident involving his entire school. In that world, Hiiragi and a gorilla called Saria eat an Evolution Fruit, resulting in a miraculous transformation for the both of them. 

The staff includes Yoshiaki Okumura (Monsuno) as director, Gigaemon Ichikawa (Kedama no Gonjiro) as series composer and scriptwriter, Minami Eda as character designer, Lee Seo-Gu (Tsukiuta. The Animation 2) as art director, Chieko Hibi i (So I’m a Spider, So What?) as color designer, Hideki Imaizumi (So I’m a Spider, So What?) as photography director, and Hifumi Inc. as music composer. Hotline is the animation production company.

Yoshino Nanjō will perform the opening theme song “Evolution:” and Poppin’Party will perform the ending theme song “Moonlight Walk.”
