#Seth Bogart Reveals New Album Release Date, Shares New Songs: Listen

Seth Bogart has announced the new release date for his upcoming solo album, Seth Bogart Presents… Men on the Verge of Nothing. The LP was originally slated for a June 26 release date, but was postponed. Now, it’s coming out September 25 via Bogart’s Wacky Wacko Recording. Today (September 9), Bogart has shared two new singles from the LP: “Dawn’s Lips” and “Lavender Heights.” Listen to those below.

According to a press release, “Dawn’s Lips” was written for a new soundtrack for Welcome to the Dollhouse. The track features Bikini Kill’s Tobi Vail on drums, vocals by Roxanne Clifford of Veronica Falls and Patience, and additional guitars by Alana Amram.

Of the single “Lavender Heights,” Bogart said in a press release:

In my 20s and early 30s I was struggling with major depression involving my fathers suicide and not knowing how to deal with it. I would often escape thru drugs and alcohol. One weekend my friends and I took mushrooms and went to see Britney Spears in Sacramento and afterwards found ourselves partying in the gay neighborhood AKA Lavender Heights. This song is about that time, and what an oblivious time it was to be alive. Oblivious to our privilege. Oblivious to the racial inequalities and never-ending list of problems that are now so in our face with social media that anyone with a conscience can no longer ignore and pretend everything is OK.

Seth Bogart’s last solo album was his 2016 self-titled LP. Revisit “New King of Camp Seth Bogart on Turning Pop Music Into Pop Art” on the Pitch.
