#Serial Manhattan bank robber strikes in Brooklyn, feds say

An accused serial Manhattan bank robber was charged Tuesday in yet another heist — this time in Brooklyn, federal prosecutors said.

Eric Adjei, 47, allegedly robbed a Chase Bank in Prospect Heights July 21 at around 5:40 p.m., while wearing a surgical mask and a black and a white horizontal-striped shirt.

“I have a gun in my bag, give me $3,000,” he told a teller at the bank, before fleeing with the cash, according to a criminal complaint unsealed Tuesday.

Adjei allegedly confessed to the stick-up — and told law enforcement that he planned to hit a Chase Bank in Harlem upon his release, prosecutors said.

That’s the same bank he’s been charged with robbing or attempting to rob on four separate occasions on May 24, 2017, July 24, 2017, December 28, 2019 and January 24, feds said.

Adjei pleaded guilty in 2018 to the first robbery, where he’d also handed a person a note demanding $3,000 and threatening to shoot them, before making off with $2,000, according to a criminal complaint.

He was sentenced to three years probation in that case.

In the January heist, Adjei allegedly handed a teller a note that stated “I’M A ROBBER. I HAVE A BOMB IN MY BAG. I NEED $35,000 RIGHT NOW” and fled with $1,835, according to the complaint in that case.

He was arraigned Jan. 25 on charges of robbery in the third degree, which is not a bail eligible offense, and granted supervised release, the Manhattan District Attorney’s office said.

Adjei was ordered held without bail at his arraignment in Brooklyn Federal Court Tuesday on the most recent robbery charges.
