“Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos Reveals Sailor Galaxia, Princess Kakyu Cast”

Megumi Hayashibara, Nana Mizuki, and Kotono Mitsuishi have been revealed as additional cast members for the upcoming two-part Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos movie. Hayashibara is playing antagonist Sailor Galaxia while Mizuki is playing Princess Kakyu.

Meanwhile, Mitsuishi is playing the role of Chibichibi.

The first part of Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos will premiere in Japanese theaters on June 9, while Part 2 will begin screening on June 30. Tomoya Takahashi (Yo-kai Watch Shadowside co-assistant director) is directing the movie.

Other staff include Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Do It Yourself! series composer) as scriptwriter, Sailor Moon creator Naoko Takeuchi as chief supervisor, Kazuko Tadano (Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie) as character designer, Studio Jack’s Yumiko Kuga (Deaimon: Recipe for Happiness) as art director, and Yasuharu Takanashi (Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie) as music composer. Toei Animation and Studio DEEN are in charge of the animation production.

In addition to the returning Sailor Moon Crystal cast, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos also features Marina Inoue as Sailor Star Fighter/Kou Seiya, Saori Hayami as Sailor Star Maker/Kou Taiki, and Ayane Sakura as Sailor Star Healer/Kou Yaten.

The Kodansha-published Sailor Moon manga originally ran from 1992 to 1997 with 18 tankoubon volumes. After an anime series adaptation in the 1990s, the manga received new animated adaptations in the previous decade beginning with 2014’s Sailor Moon Crystal ONA. The two-part Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal movie was released in 2021 and served as the fourth season of Sailor Moon Crystal. It was also the first theatrical Sailor Moon movie in 25 years.
