Here’s all you need to know about the Apollo 11 anniversary programming

Can you believe it’s been 51 years since mankind first set foot on the moon? This year also marked the first time a private company has launched American astronauts into space, and off one of NASA’s launchpads! It’s a tremendous year for space, and Science Channel, Discovery’s sister channel, is marking that with some Apollo 11 anniversary special programming.

Science Channel is offering a full day of space coverage on Monday, July 20. It all starts at 9 a.m. ET/PT and will run until the night.

There’s certainly programming focused solely on Apollo 11, but there are other important discoveries and mentions within Space. There’s a chance to look at NASA’s greatest missions ever to happen in its almost 60-year history and there are the stories of the spacecraft that explored Jupiter, Saturn, and further planets in the solar system.

Many of these missions have taught us new things about life. They’ve given men and women the idea about life on other planets and whether it’s possible. There is certainly a lot to celebrate.
