#School Days Haunted Drive-In Delivers Frights to Akiba This Christmas

If you’ve ever wanted to immerse yourself in the world of School Days — and trust us, we understand if you haven’t — you’ll have that chance this Christmas Eve. Just drive to Akihabara for a spooky experience set in the series. You won’t even have to leave your car!

Kowagarasetai (which translates roughly to to “The Scaredy Squad,” according to CNN Travel), is a drive-in haunted house company that was formed to keep haunt enthusiasts happy and horrified through lockdown. Visitors pull into a garage, receive a set of Bluetooth speakers, and prepare to endure a zombie outbreak from within their vehicle. The scare actors rock the car and splatter fake blood across it — and tidy up for you after the fact so you don’t get questioned on the drive home.

The company’s crossover haunt, titled Makoto the Real, transposes the idea to the world of School Days. Visitors are in the shoes of Makoto Itou, the ill-fated protagonist of the series. In this new story, you — as Makoto — have just bought a pair of strange rings from a jeweler. Maybe the rings are cursed. Or maybe something else is at play. But suddenly your world has just gotten a lot gorier.

And, as the haunt ends, a certain someone approaches…

(Yeah, we all know who that Pokémon is.)

The original voice cast reprises their roles for the production’s pre-recorded binaural track.

It all kicks off December 24 at the Fujisoft Akihabara Building. Tickets are 2,000 yen per person, with a limit of six people per vehicle.
