A 25-year-old man was shot dead and seven others injured in at least a trio of early hours’ shootings starting yet another bloody Sunday in Brooklyn, according to police sources.

The murder came just moments after 1 a.m. as gunfire erupted on East 102nd Street in Canarsie, just a block from a playground and Brooklyn’s P.S. 173, according to sources. No arrests had been made, sources said.

Within 40 minutes, three people were then shot at the junction of Myrtle and Carlton Avenues, just a block from Fort Greene park, at 1:45 a.m., the sources said.

Further details were not immediately available, but photos from the scene showed at least two dozen overturned cups used to preserve evidence.

Four people were then shot at 2:20 a.m. on Gipson Street in Far Rockaway, sources said. Their conditions were not immediately released.

The spree is the latest sign of an escalating gun crime problem in the Big Apple, where the number of shootings has already topped the tally for the whole of last year. Brooklyn has seen the worst of the city-wide surge.
