#Sakamoto Days Unveils 2nd Cour Key Visual, Adds Koki Uchiyama to Cast

A new key visual and cast member have been unveiled for the second cour of the Sakamoto Days TV anime. The first cour ended with the anime’s 11th episode on March 22, 2025 after first airing on January 11, 2025. The second cour is set to debut in Japan in July 2025.

The new cast member joining the series’ second cour is Koki Uchiyama as Gaku.

Uchiyama joins a main voice cast that stars: 

  • • Tomokazu Sugita as Taro Sakamoto 
  • • Nobunaga Shimazaki as Shin Asakura
  • • Ayane Sakura as Lu Shaotang
  • • Nao Toyama as Aoi Sakamoto
  • • Ryota Suzuki as Heisuke Mashimo
  • • Hina Kino as Hana Sakamoto
  • • Miyari Nemoto as Pisuke

Masaki Watanabe (Bakumatsu, Battle Spirits: Mirage) is directing the anime, with Taku Kishimoto (Blue Lock) as series screenwriter, Yo Moriyama (Megalo Box director and co-sub character designer et al.) as character designer, and Yuki Hayashi (Haikyu!!, My Hero Academia) as music composer. TMS Entertainment is handling the animation production. 

Netflix is streaming the anime series worldwide on a weekly release schedule.

The anime is based on the manga by Yuto Suzuki, which began in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump on November 21, 2020 and has released 21 tankobon volumes as of March 2025.

VIZ Media releases the Sakamoto Days manga series in English, describing the main synopsis as:

Taro Sakamoto was once a legendary hit man considered the greatest of all time. Bad guys feared him! Assassins revered him! But then one day he quit, got married, and had a baby. He’s now living the quiet life as the owner of a neighborhood store, but how long can Sakamoto enjoy his days of retirement before his past catches up to him?!
