Royce Da 5’9″ has given Sada Baby props for joining him on the sober route after the “Pressin” rapper kicked a lean habit that was potentially costing him around $700,000 per year.

Skuba went public with his sobriety on Tuesday (January 24) in a tweet where he revealed he stopped spending an estimated $10,000 to $20,000 per week on lean.

“Ain’t spent 10-20k a week on lean in longer than a year, ain’t bought over 5 perks in two months,” he wrote. “Ain’t smoked a cigarette in two months. Suck my dick n celebrate my sobriety.”

The 30-year-old rhymer made his sobriety revelation after he was falsely accused him of being high during a late-night studio session which saw him rambling coherently.

“Because I was doin the explanation Shit all damn session like I do anyways,” he tweeted. “How tf do y’all think I was tooooo high. Do y’all really know what junkies look like? They Kaint function dumb ass ppl. Know me before you think I’m too high like these mfs who be overdosing. Not Casada.”

Royce Da 5’9″ has been sober for over a decade after going cold turkey one morning in 2012 and deciding to fully ditch alcohol and drugs.

“I just woke up one day and I had an overwhelming feeling. It was time to stop,” Royce told SiriusXM in 2020. “I was drinking tequila — Patron — every single day… I just woke up that day and I’m kinda a universe hippy in a way. I kinda like to follow the signs.”

He admitted a conversation with close friend Eminem — who has been sober since 2008 following a near-fatal drug overdose — weeks prior played a role in his sobriety choice.

“I had to do 106 & Park and I woke up in the hotel room and I remember my good friend [Eminem] two weeks before that I was in Detroit and I was in his office and I remember him saying, ‘You know, if you ever feel like you got a problem you could call me, right?’”
