#Rosario Dawson, André Holland & More Join Voice Cast of Terminator Zero

Netflix has revealed the addition of four new voice cast members joining the upcoming Terminator Zero anime series, headlined by Rosario Dawson and André Holland. The series will debut on Netflix on August 29, 2024. 

The new cast members for the series includes: 

• • Rosario Dawson as Kokoro — An advanced AI and Japan’s answer to Skynet. 
• • André Holland as Malcolm Lee — A genius computer programmer and father of three. 
• • Sonoya Mizuno as Eiko — a resistance fighter sent back in time to stop Malcolm from launching Kokoro.
• • Ann Dowd as The Prophet — A philosophical guide for the human resistance in the future. 

They join a voice cast that previously announced that Timothy Olyphant would voice the titular Terminator. 

Additionally, Netflix also released five new character stills of the newly announced characters. 

Terminator Zero will contain eight total episodes and will be part of the overall Terminator universe. However, the story will focus on new characters not featured in the films. It also serves as the first animated installment for the franchise.

Production I.G is the animation production company for the series, with Masashi Kudo (Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War character designer) serving as the director. Mattson Tomlin (Project Power, The Batman II) is serving as the series showrunner, executive producer, and writer. Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger are credited as executive producers.

The series was first announced in February 2021 as an unnamed animated project. 

Netflix describes the synopsis of Terminator Zero as: 

2022: A future war has raged for decades between the few human survivors and an endless army of machines. 1997: The AI known as Skynet gained self-awareness and began its war against humanity.

Caught between the future and this past is a soldier sent back in time to change the fate of humanity. She arrives in 1997 to protect a scientist named Malcolm Lee who works to launch a new AI system designed to compete with Skynet’s impending attack on humanity. As Malcolm navigates the moral complexities of his creation, he is hunted by an unrelenting assassin from the future which forever alters the fate of his three children.
