#Valheim Fenring Location How To Beat Easy Guide

Werewolves exist in Valheim, and players may have heard them howling in the Mountains biome at night. Fenrings are the name for these creatures, and they only spawn at night in the Mountains. Fenrings are werewolf-like creatures that are large, brown, and bipedal. They are not tameable, unlike regular wolves, and their howl is distinct from that of a regular wolf. They appear when the moon is visible, so players who go exploring after dark are very likely to come across one.

Fenrings can be avoided by staying indoors by a fire in the Mountains at night, but they are worth hunting. This is due to the fact that when the Fenring is defeated, it always drops a Wolf Fang. Wolf Fangs are a rare crafting material that can be used to make Wolf Armor legs and the Fang Spear weapon. While Fenrings will naturally spawn, players can use cheats to force them to spawn and farm them for drops. Here’s how to defeat Fenrings in Valheim for brave players willing to face one of these terrifying beasts.

How to Beat Fenrings

Fenrings have health of around 300 HP. When fighting players, they have two main attacks: a standard claw swing and a lunge attack followed by a swing or slam. Players can usually tell when the Fenring is about to use the second type of attack because it will crouch in preparation. They’ll want to use a shield to block this attack, as it can deal 70-80 damage at a time.

Fenrings also have the ability to summon a wolf pack to assist them in combat with the player character. Wolves in Valheim are vicious and dangerous, and just one or two bites can kill a player in a matter of seconds. Players can easily become overwhelmed trying to keep track of every creature attacking them, as wolf packs typically have three or four wolves at a time.

Melee Weapon

Players will most likely need melee weapons to combat Fenrings and the wolves they summon. Ranged weapons can be effective, but because Fenrings and wolves can lunge, the distance may not be helpful. Fenrings will also take extra damage from weapons that deal with Spirit damage. The Silver Sword and Frostner are both excellent choices. Players should wait until they have one of these weapons before venturing out into the mountains at night.

Parry!

While parrying is usually a good way to avoid a creature’s blows, it isn’t as effective against a Fenring. They can quickly recover from a parry, and players are unlikely to get more than a couple of quick attacks in before returning to the offensive.

Drops

Fenrings always drop at least one Wolf Fang when defeated, and each one has a 10% chance of dropping a Fenring Trophy. The trophy is a replica of one of the creature’s paws, which players can display in their homes as a symbol of their bravery. While Valheim is still in Early Access, players can expect to see more from the Fenrings in future updates.
