The production team for the historical action anime series Revenger has announced the addition of two new voice cast members joining the show. The 12-episode anime series first premiered on January 5, 2023. 

The additional cast members include Nobuhiko Okamoto as Saimon Shishido and Daisuke Hirakawa as Liu. They join a main voice cast consisting of Jun Kasama as Raizo Kurima, Yuuichirou Umehara as Yuen Usui, Shunsuke Takeuchi as Teppa Murakami, Shouta Hayama as Soji, and Hisako Kanemoto as Nio. Other voice actors include Akio Ootsuka as Gerald Kano and Takehito Koyasu as Jinkuro Isarizawa. 

The anime production staff includes Masaya Fujimori (Kemono Jihen) as director, Gen Urobuchi (Psycho-Pass) as series screenwriter and co-script writer with Renji Ooki (Bubble), and Yuuji Hosogoe (Saga of Tanya the Evil) as character designer. Hosogoe joins Yuuki Nishioka (Bokura no Nanokakan Sensou) and Emiko Endou (Kemono Jihen) as animation supervisors. Jun Futamata is composing the musical score and Urobuchi is credited with the original story concept. Ajia-do Animation Works is in charge of the animation production for the series.  

Nitroplus and Shouchiku announced the series’ production in September 2022 and are credited as original planners for the project. 

Crunchyroll is currently streaming the Revenger anime series and describes it as: 

As master assassin Usui Yuen looks into a series of assassinations made on the grand samurai clan, the Satsuma, he encounters Kurima Raizo, member and survivor of one of the attacks. Together, they discover the true nature of these murders is bigger than over stolen resources. As they get closer to the truth, will they come out alive to exact revenge?
