Embattled scooter-sharing company Revel has a new plan to keep people safe on its mopeds — making riders take a selfie to prove they’re wearing a helmet.

The requirement — as well as mandatory viewing of in-app “how-to” videos — was added for riders Tuesday in Miami, D.C. and San Francisco, the company told Streetsblog. As of next month, users will also have to complete a 20-minute multiple choice safety test.

Revel was pulled from the streets of New York City last month after three fatal collisions in the span of just 10 days last month, and remains out of service in the Big Apple for now.

But the company appears to be eyeing a return soon.

“Over the past three weeks, we have continued our ongoing work of reviewing and strengthening our rider accountability and safety measures,” a company spokesperson told The Post.

“During this time, we have continued to actively communicate with city officials and community leaders. We are in the process of finalizing these measures and, while we do not have an announcement to make at this time, we will have more information available to share soon. ”

All that was previously required to ride Revel was a standard driver’s license, as the 30-mph slow-peds don’t require a motorcycle permit.

The most recent Revel victim, a 30-year-old Bronx man, passed away on Aug. 4, more than a week after colliding into a pole in Washington Heights.

Police said the man, Francis Nunez, was not wearing a helmet.

CBS reporter Nina Kapur died in a crash while riding as a passenger on a Revel last month, and was also not wearing a helmet.

In July, Mayor Bill de Blasio promised Revel would remain of the streets until city officials “are satisfied it can be done safely.”

A City Hall spokesman said Tuesday the company has since submitted a plan “with some ideas in it,” which is currently under review by the city.

Still, the new safety protocols fall short of Revel’s own standards, according to Streetsblog: A study commissioned by the company previously recommended motion sensors to ensure riders are wearing their helmets at all times.

On Monday, Councilman Antonio Reynoso (D-Brooklyn) took to Twitter to sing the company’s praises.

“I’ve been impressed with how they’ve used this pause to strengthen safety protocols,” Reynoso said. “It’s important we get their over 300 employees back to work & continue offering alternative transportation options to New Yorkers.
