#REPORT: My Next Life as a Villainess X Takes Over Akihabara’s Atre

My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!

A note on safety: The following report undertook strict safety procedures in Japan. We strongly urge everyone to follow the recommended safety protocols in your country and get vaccinated if possible — not just for your sake, but everyone else’s as well.

What would be the first thing Catarina Claes would do if she were back in our world — besides eat food of course? Head to Akihabara to see all the otaku things she missed out on while she was playing around inside Fortune Lover. In the lead-up to My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! X, Akihabara’s Atre was taken over by the not-wannabe villain, and I was there to check it out!

The My Next Life as a Villainess collaboration event at Atre was part small exhibition, part pop-up shop to celebrate the upcoming second season of the popular TV anime series, as well as Bakarina’s June 24 birthday. Held on the second floor, the event space was unmissable — just look at the cute chibi versions of all the characters!

Like the chibi characters, the event space was small but rich and full of Villainess fun. Nestled in the corner were reproductions of the original drawings from the manga and light novel, both illustrated by Nami Hidaka. You can even see the panels of Catarina’s other personalities coming out!

Next to the mini-exhibition was the star of the show, full recreations of the outfits worn by Catarina Claes and Geordo Stuart, complete with what I’d imagine to be the correct heights (though that’s not officially confirmed as far as I could find!) and matching wigs. I personally only measured a little taller than the 15-year old prince.

On the main Akihabara strip, the windows of Atre loosely recreated what looks like Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper but with the characters from My Next Life as a Villainess. The image is actually a key visual from the upcoming season, just that little more impressive on the side of a department store!
