It’s easy to find the Apple TV app in a variety of places, but now, you’ll find it in yet another place: your Comcast device. In its recent earnings call, Comcast announced that the app will be available on its platforms sometime in the next few months.

So, anyone with Xfinity X1 set-tops, a Flex streaming hub, or XClass TVs (for European and UK viewers) and Sky Glass sets can access the Apple TV+ app (Android/iOS) that way. This increased availability will give viewers access not just to the Apple TV+ app—it also grants you access to in-app channels (with options like Showtime or AMC+) along with the ability to rent or purchase videos.

But the good news doesn’t stop there! Comcast, likewise, is making its Xfinity Stream app (Android/iOS) available to Apple TV hardware. This additional functionality will make it easy for you to use your Apple TV as both a set-top stand and as a way to watch content on a different TV when you’re not home.

While the Apple TV+ app is fairly widely available—especially on streaming sticks, smart TVs, and gaming consoles—it’s still a big move to expand it to cable boxes. Not everyone has these options available to them, so this expansion brings additional programming to those who wouldn’t normally get to enjoy anything beyond what’s included in their cable TV package.
