#Rep. Elise Stefanik will speak at RNC about Joe Biden’s legacy

WASHINGTON — Rep. Elise Stefanik will join the list of speakers at the Republican National Convention next week, appearing in a prime-time headline slot to deliver a scathing analysis of Joe Biden’s legacy, multiple senior Trump campaign sources told The Post.

The New York congresswoman, 36, will deliver an address from the historic Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C., where other top-billing speakers are also expected to appear from, The Post can exclusively reveal.

Stefanik has vaulted to a position of influence in the GOP since being elected to Congress in 2015 and was named a co-chair of President Trump’s informal impeachment defense team earlier this year.

The North Country lawmaker is a close adviser to Trump and has become a fundraising juggernaut — raising a massive $10 million for her re-election bid this year in solidly blue New York State.

The Republican National Convention is yet to announce their full line-up of speakers but South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, Nick Sandmann, the Convington Catholic student who settled libel lawsuits against CNN and the Washington Post, and Patricia and Mark McCloskey, the St. Louis homeowners who brandished guns at Black Lives Matter protesters, have all been confirmed.

One GOP source said Stefanik’s speech was “significant” for both upstate New York and Republicans in the blue state, and noted that her speech would be much longer than the 60 seconds that fellow New York congresswoman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was allocated at her own convention this week.

In a statement, Stefanik said she was “honored” to speak in support of Trump’s re-election.

“This election is a clear choice between President Trump’s record of delivering results for the American people during this challenging time versus Joe Biden’s 47-year failed record of far-left policies,” she said.

“Most importantly, I look forward to representing my constituents in Northern New York who enthusiastically support the president,” she continued.

In an interview with The Post in the Oval Office last week, the president bullishly declared he would win back the state which hasn’t voted for a Republican since Ronald Reagan in 1984 — saying his campaign was “putting New York in play.”

Stefanik noted the enthusiasm for Trump in her own NY 21st congressional district.

“As I have been working and campaigning in my district, I have seen thousands of Trump signs compared to just two signs for Joe Biden,” the lawmaker said Friday.

“It took my Democratic opponent EIGHT long days for her to comment on whether she supports the Biden-Harris ticket. And she’s only said she is supporting them because ‘she’s a Democrat,’ that’s how little support Joe a Biden has in this Obama-Trump district,” Stefanik added.

President Trump will deliver his own hallmark speech from the White House, telling The Post last week he planned to deliver it on a lawn at the executive mansion in front of a crowd of supporters.

First Lady Melania Trump is also expected to give her address from the Rose Garden.

The Democratic convention wrapped up on Thursday night with nominee Joe Biden delivering a speech in Wilmington, Del., where he promised to be “an ally of the light, not the darkness.”

The Trump campaign launched a massive counter-programming operation including an eight-figure ad spend and a barnstorm of battleground state speeches, which saw the president deliver a rebuke of Biden’s legacy near his childhood hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania just hours before Biden appeared at the DNC.
