#Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 2 Coming in 2022

The second season of romantic comedy anime Rent-a-Girlfriend is set to premiere in 2022. The announcement was made during a special event on February 28.

Rent-a-Girlfriend‘s second season was first announced in September 2020, the same month in which the first season concluded. The first season premiered in July 2020 and featured a star-studded cast including Shun Horie (Kazuya Kinoshita), Sora Amamiya (Chizuru Mizuhara), Aoi Yuuki (Mami Nanami), Nao Touyama (Ruka Sarashina), and Rie Takahashi (Sumi Sakurasawa).

The first season’s staff included Kazuomi Koga as director, Mitsutaka Hirota as series composer, Kanna Hirayama as character designer, Fumiko Ishiguro as color designer, Minoru Akiba as art director, Shintaro Sakai as photography director, and Kenichi Maeyamada/Hyadain as music composer. TMS Entertainment was in charge of the animation production.

During the 7th Anime Trending Awards, Hirayama won the award for best character design with her work on Rent-A-Girlfriend.

Rent-A-Girlfriend is an adaptation of the manga by Reiji Miyajima, which began serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in 2017. The manga has 19 volumes as of February 2021, while the Sumi-centered spin-off series Kanojo, Hitomishimasu currently has two volumes.
