# Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online for PS5, Xbox Series launch March 15

The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions will feature new graphics modes with up to 4K resolution, support for up to 60 frames per second, texture and draw distance upgrades, HDR options, ray tracing, and other technical advancements, including faster load times, 3D audio, and platform-specific features like haptic feedback.

Users who own Grand Theft Auto V for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will be able to transfer their Story Mode progress and Grand Theft Auto Online custom characters and progression via a one-time migration at launch.

The launch will also see the debut of a new standalone version of Grand Theft Auto Online, the PlayStation 5 version of which will be available for free for the first three months of release.

Grand Theft Auto Online has also seen a number of improvements, including the ability to skip the Grand Theft Auto V Story Mode prologue before entering Grand Theft Auto Online, and an all-new tutorial. New players will enter the Career Builder, which grants instant access to one of four illicit businesses (Biker, Executive, Nightclub Owner, or Gunrunner) and a sizable windfall of cash to help select a property, high-end vehicle, and weapons to kickstart their enterprise. Returning players will also have the option to restart their character and utilize the Career Builder.

The new Hao’s Special Works auto shop is also included, which will allow players to upgrade select vehicles (five new vehicles and five existing vehicles at launch) for elite driving performance “that takes full advantage of the upgraded power of new console hardware.”
