It’s funny, this webtoon was once known as “The reincarnation of the suicidal battle god” when I started reading it, so imagine my surprise that it got picked up by webtoon under a different name, Doom Breaker!

Zephyr is the last human fighting evil in a world abandoned by the gods. When he is killed in battle by Tartarus, the god of destruction, all hope for humanity seems lost. But Zephyr’s fate is not sealed — the gods who find his battles entertaining have gifted him a second chance at life, as he is sent ten years into the past, back to when he was a slave instead of the most powerful human alive. Can Zephyr get his revenge against Tartarus and save the woman he loves, or is he doomed to repeat the past?

Before you say it, yes it’s another reincarnation story where the hero is reborn back from square one! It seems people really enjoy these types of stories and who am I to tell them otherwise, I mean I read it too so I’m part of that group. Although the art is crazy good, you will feel like you’ve read something like this somewhere before which is what I got reading Doom Breaker. Still, it’s not bad, gets better and the pacing is ok for the three official chapters that are out (ten if you’re sailing the high seas). This time we know the end goal, a rematch with the Demon Lord, so watching him get strong just to take on a person that not only beat him but revived him again because the way he left the land of the living pissed him off is kinda funny. And also we have the gods who are watching all of this for their own entertainment so maybe Zephyr might end up becoming Kratos and want to kill those other gods too.

Overall, I feel like it’s worth a read if you’re already into these isekai/reincarnation stories!
