“Scarlet Bond Releases Main Trailer”

A main trailer has been released for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Scarlet Bond, which is set to premiere in Japan on November 25. 

The trailer includes a preview of movie-original characters Hiro (Yuuma Uchida), Towa (Riko Fukumoto), and Lacua (Subaru Kimura), as well as the MindaRyn theme song “Make Me Feel Better.”

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Scarlet Bond will be distributed by Crunchyroll in “all major global territories” excluding Asia sometime in early 2023. Crunchyroll describes the movie’s plot as:

A long-running conspiracy is swirling over a mysterious power known as “Queen” in Raja, a small country west of Tempest. When a slime who evolved into a Demon Lord named Rimuru Tempest crosses paths with Hiiro, a survivor of the Ogre race, an incredible adventure packed with new characters begins. The power of bonds will be put to the test!

The movie’s staff includes Yasuhito Kikuchi (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 1) as director, Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime series composer and scriptwriter) as scriptwriter, Ryouma Ebata (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) as character designer, and Takahiro Kishida (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) as monster designer. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime author Fuse handled the story draft. Eight Bit is again the animation production company.

Other returning staff from the series include Ayumi Satou as art director, Maki Saitou as color designer, and Hiroshi Satou as photography director. Elements Garden’s Hitoshi Fujima is now credited with the music composition (Elements Garden was credited for the series). 

The That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime series is based on Taiki Kawakami‘s Kodansha-published manga adaptation of Fuse’s light novels, which is serialized in Monthly Shonen Sirius and published under the Sirius KC label. The manga began in 2015 and has 21 volumes as of July 2022.

The light novel series, which is illustrated by Mitz Vah and published under Micro Magazine’s GC Novels label, began in 2014 and released its 20th volume on September 30, 2022. The story began as a web novel in 2013 on Shousetsuka ni Narou.
