Apparently, Rebel Wilson didn’t have the best experience when she was introduced to Meghan Markle for the first time.

During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Thursday, the 43-year-old actress recalled that she and her mom, Sue Bownds, traveled to Santa Barbara, California, where they met the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Throughout their interaction, Rebel said she could not help but notice a big difference between the couple. What was that, you may ask? According to the Pitch Perfect star, Meghan wasn’t as “warm” as Prince Harry:

“We went up to Santa Barbara, met Harry, he could not have been nicer. But then, Meghan was not as cool. She wasn’t as naturally warm.”

Yikes! However, Rebel noted that the 41-year-old royal might have been a little cold at the time because her mother kept asking “slightly rude” questions, including:

“‘Where are your kids?’ And things like that.”

The Senior Year star added:

“And I’m like, ‘Mom, don’t ask her that.’”

When host Andy Cohen asked Rebel if she had known the pair before the interaction, she said she hadn’t but claimed they “had a mutual friend in common, a polo player.” The comedian then joked before reiterating that Harry was “lovely” the whole time:

“Maybe that’s why she was like, ‘Who are these annoying convicts from Australia?’”

Or she was most likely peeved at being rudely asked where her son Archie and daughter Lilibet were by a complete stranger… No wonder why she was a tad standoffish at the time. You can ch-ch-check out the WWHL moment (below):

Following the interview, people had some mixed reactions to Rebel’s comments – with a few fans criticizing her for calling out Meghan after she and her mom asked her a rude question:

“Talking about Meghan Markle negatively because she doesn’t respond to rude questions? Rebel Wilson should have more material than this. Boring”

“Rebel Wilson decided she wanted to create some drama by framing this comment with ‘#MeghanMarkle wasn’t as naturally warm to my mom as Harry,’ when she should have started with ‘my mom was rude AF to Meghan.’”

“So let me get this straight: Rebel Wilson & her mother were rude to Meghan Markle but Rebel was surprised Meghan wasn’t warm & cuddly with them? Where they do that at?”

Of course, there were plenty of social media users agreeing with Rebel’s description of the Suits alum:

“I believe her. She has good judgment. Meghan Markle is a narcissist. She acted like she’s the monarch when she married a spare to the throne.”

“Meghan’s mask failure. REAL Celebrities & Hollywood elites are starting to tell the truth that she isn’t a hugger or a warm personality. How dare she disrespect Rebel’s Mum.”
