#Washington boy allegedly stabbed to death by older brother

A Washington state boy was allegedly stabbed to death in broad daylight by his older brother, authorities said.

Bobby Hak, 22, chased his 11-year-old brother Murphy Hak outside their Renton home around noon Saturday, and then started attacking him on a sidewalk, the Renton Police Department said.

The older brother was arrested at the scene, and the young boy was taken to Harborview Medical Center where he died.

Witnesses said Murphy Hak was stabbed with a large kitchen knife and there was blood all over the sidewalk.

“I got closer and I just saw all this blood,” neighbor Thomas Rountree told KIRO7. “It literally looked like the kid got into a shower and was just drenched in blood.”

Shanty Hak was mourning her young son Murphy, saying he was a respectful and friendly boy.

“I miss him so much,” the grieving mother told KIRO7. “He’s my boy.”

Hak mentioned her older son Bobby suffers from mental illness and seemed agitated after a call with his psychiatrist.

She told Murphy to get his brother to calm down, but Bobby Hak erupted in anger and then went after Murphy.

“That’s the time I started and called Murphy,” she told the outlet. “I said ‘Murphy, run out of the house.’ He was panicked because he didn’t know what to do.”

By the time she reached Murphy, the damage had already been done.

“Absolutely heartbroken,” the boy’s aunt, Thu Carpenter, told KIRO7. “We are devastated.”

Bobby Hak was booked into King County jail where he’s being investigated for homicide.
