To kick off 2022, Razer announced it has updated one of its most popular product categories, the Blade gaming laptop. Getting things started at CES 2022, Razer announced brand new versions of the Blade 14, 15, and 17 laptops, packing plenty of power thanks to the latest high-end CPUs from Intel and AMD and upgraded NVIDIA GPUs.

Razer is delivering a new and improved AMD-powered Blade 14 and stacking its highest-end Blade 17 with all the bells and whistles costing upwards of $4,300, along with plenty of other options in-between. Gamers will be happy to learn that all three new and improved Blade laptops will go on sale early in the first quarter of 2022.

Razer’s newly revamped line of Blade laptops look similar to previous generations but have a lot to offer. Some of the changes include larger RGB keyboards that are easier to type on, improved and slim-lined hinges for a smaller profile, new laser-milled speaker grills, and better glass trackpads. We also see upgrades to Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and all three come with Windows 11 out of the box.

Razer’s Blade 14 is finally getting a refresh, but it’s still the company’s main AMD machine. The early 2022 model now comes with the new AMD Ryzen 6000 series chips and the AMD Ryzen 9 9600HX. Fans will be happy to see GPU options, including the RTX 3060, RTX 3070 Ti, and RTX 3080 Ti.

As for screen options, the Blade 14 has the choice of Full HD resolution at 144Hz for the RTX 3060 model and QHD resolution at 165Hz for the other GPU options. Along with every other new Blade, DDR5 is on board, which is great to see. In addition, the Blade 14 comes complete with 16GB dual-channel DDR5-4800MHz RAM. As for storage, you’ll get a 1TB PCIe Gen-4 SSD for all your gaming needs, with an optional 2TB upgrade for all you streamers.

Being a gaming laptop, we have plenty of connectivity options, including Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2, as mentioned earlier. Additionally, you can expect two USB 3.2 Type-C ports with Power Delivery, two USB 3.2 Gen-2 Type-A ports, and Display Port 1.4. There’s also HDMI 2.1, a microphone jack, a dedicated power port, and a 230W adapter to juice up the 61.6WHr battery.

The new Razer Blade 14 starts at $1,999 for the RTX 3060 model, $2,599 for the RTX 3070 Ti model, and $3,499 for the top-of-the-line RTX 3080 Ti model. Pre-orders open on February 10th, with the release date to follow.

Potential buyers can expect the same upgrades throughout for any model they choose, but the Blade 15 and 17 have the latest Intel chips and even more GPU power options.

With the Razer Blade 15, which was already an excellent laptop, buyers now get to enjoy Intel’s latest 12-Gen chipset. Power options include the Intel Core i7-12800H in several variants, or you can go all the way up to the Intel Core i9-12900HK. And similarly to the 14, GPU options for the Blade 15 include the RTX 3060, the RTX 3070 Ti, and the RTX 3080 Ti.

On the bigger Blade 15, you can choose between a 360Hz Full HD display or a 240Hz QHD panel. The company is even offering a 4K 144Hz version for the i9 package that packs the RTX 3080 Ti, but it’ll cost ya. Depending on the model, the Blade 15 comes with 16/32GB dual-channel DDR5-4800MHz RAM, 1TB SSD, with the option to upgrade to 64GB RAM or a 2TB SSD. Then, the Blade 15 gets an open M.2 slot for an extra SSD.

The Blade 15 ranges from $2,500 to $4,000 depending on the configuration, and that’s before you expand storage or add additional RAM.

Razer Blade 17

If you have a huge wallet with money burning a hole in your pocket, you’ll love all the options on the big, bad Razer Blade 17 for 2022. On top of all the same specs and chipset options as the Blade 15, including the 4K 144Hz screen upgrade at the high end, you can get Razer’s biggest and best gaming laptop with 4TB of storage. Plus, you’ll still have a free M.2 slot to add more later.

As expected, you’ll still get Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2, tons of ports, and a few extra goodies. The ports include three USB 3.2 Gen-2 Type-A ports, two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, a gigabit ethernet port, HDMI 2.1, and a microphone jack. The Blade 17 even has a fold-out 2.5Gb Ethernet port for hardwired gaming, not to mention a UHS-II SD card reader and a bigger 280W power adapter.

There’s still a little to be desired with it only packing an 82 watt-hour battery, but the new and improved eight-speaker setup inside will undoubtedly make gamers happy.

The new early 2022 Razer Blade 17 starts at a costly $2,700 for the base RTX 3060 model and an eye-watering $4,299 to get all the bells and whistles. Both the Blade 15 and Blade 17 will be available to pre-order from January 25th, with a release date coming soon.
