While the Rangers’ season may have ended abruptly in the Toronto bubble when they were swept by the Hurricanes, they quickly had something to celebrate. They won the Alexis Lafreniere sweepstakes by winning the NHL Draft Lottery and the right to the No. 1 overall pick.

It was a busy Season 1 finale of “Up In The Blue Seats” podcast with Ron Duguay, talking about the top pick and the Rangers offseason ahead. Ron opens the show talking about his excitement when he saw the ping pong ball come up the Rangers’ way and what it means for the franchise moving forward. He then welcomes in The Post’s Mollie Walker to get her reactions to the Blueshirts getting the No. 1 pick and all the conspiracy theory talk. Mollie talks Henrik Lundqvist and his Rangers days likely being over and how the team can improve this offseason. She also gets into the Islanders-Capitals series and if the overtime playoff rules need to change after the Lightning and Blue Jackets went to five overtimes on Tuesday.

Brooksie discusses the Rangers landing the top pick, gives a breakdown of Alexis Lafreniere and discusses if the team would consider trading the pick.
