Police arrested six people, including a minor, following a night of clashes with protestors at a Robert E. Lee monument in Virginia’s capital Friday.

The six — five white adults and a black, male juvenile — are all facing charges, Richmond police said Saturday in a news release. All live in Richmond.

The minor is facing a felony charge of assault on a police officer with a paintball gun, as well as charges of obstruction of justice and unlawful assembly during demonstrations at the Lee monument.

The adults, between all the ages of 27 and 30, are facing various misdemeanor charges, the statement said.

The latest clashes with police at the monument, which has become a flashpoint for groups demonstrating against racial injustice and police brutality, took place late Friday night as officers tried to clear the scene.
